We all know that Toms Shoes loves to put shoes on the feet of kids in need, especially kids in need in the continent of Africa. Well this time, Toms Shoes has gotten a bit of help, in the form of design assistance and creative direction from celebrity and acclaimed actor Charlize Theron. Just two weeks ago, Charlize debuted a limited edition collaborative effort with Toms Shoes and founder Blake Mycoskie for the purpose of benefiting kids in her native South Africa. What a great outreach of the One for One Mission.
Specifically, proceeds of the sale of these special shoes will go towards Charlize’s nonprofit organization the Charlize Theron Africa Outreach Project. The organization dedicates itself to systematically improving the lives of high school children in South Africa. The organization specifically works to that end in the arenas of health, education, and social development. The organization also makes an effort to provide sustainable information and recreational resources in regaards to HIV/AIDS prevention. in addition to the partnership with Charlize’s organization, Toms Shoes is also offering further support by donating $10,000 worth of shoes to her charitable organization in a very noble gesture. These shoes will be given to poor children in the remotest and hardest to reach areas and poorest rural areas of South Africa.

The shoe is designed by both Charlize Theron and the Toms Shoes design team, and can be worn by either gender. the shoe is entirely made from vegan and sustainable materials, and was inspired by an African tree called the baobab. Charlize Theron had this to say in a statement: ”I’m thrilled to have Toms Shoes as a partner. We are so grateful for their generous donation of shoes to the students that we work with.
